In Monterrey, Mexico, Newman Wachs Racing will be
sporting the American Nuclear Society symbols on their
cars.
The American Nuclear Society, ANS, is a not-for-profit
organization established in Washington, D.C in 1954.
The ANS is a group of individuals who all united in
recognition of a need to unify internationally on
behalf of scientific development and education in
nuclear energy. It’s membership includes 10,500
engineers, scientists, administrators, and educators
representing 1,600 plus corporations, educational
institutions, and government agencies.
For years, Paul Newman and Eddie Wachs have supported
and encouraged the structure and development of
nuclear energy. “Nuclear energy is the best realistic
energy source”, says Wachs “only it will take
congressional discipline to shepherd the development
through environmental pressures. The developmental
cost as well as the construction costs are affordable,
but there needs to be a fast track through the
licensing which will assure investments are sound.”
As in Houston with the announcement of their “QUIT!”
campaign encouraging race fans to quit smoking, Newman
Wachs Racing is in hopes to aid in helping educate the
public through their motorsports involvement.
